On the merry-go-round

Yesterday I went to the zoo with my progeny and an extra one in tow. Question -Why were there so many people still wearing Ed Hardy? And why were there so many tattoos? I was fearful for the future of mankind, not the animals. If I herded them all into an exhibit, it would be easier in everyone. Most of all me, but then I am a snob about such things. Highlight was the smalls riding on the carousel. So pretty.

Meanwhile, New Years Eve is upon us. There is no resolution I plan to make. No expectations of what 2011 will bring. Instead I am planning to see it as another day in a lifetime of days. Sounds odious? Not at all. I have been guilty of making too many grand statements and proclaimations over the years, esecially on New Years Eve and then falling short.

I plan to wear a sundress, drink champagne and dance to the playlist that Em and I created, mostly for our own enjoyment. It inspires me to sing these lyrics,

“We can dance if we want to
We can leave your friends behind
‘Cause your friends don’t dance and if they don’t dance
Well they’re no friends of mine”

Happy New Ears! (As my dear friend Fiona would say.)
