Here in Melbourne, the rich and not so rich head down to Flemington to watch some nags run around the lawn, whilst being ridden by a small man in coloured silk.
And some even watch the horse racing. (Boom-tish)
It is de rigueur to wear a hat, so it only seems right that I bring you the best of hats, so you can be à la mode trackside.
My hat selection is from the costumier, Rose Chong, visited, while the teen tried to find her outfit for her VCE Theatre exam.
While the teen was being attended to by the amazing girls of The House of Chong, I did a little hat-tacular modelling.
As I emerged from this topping experience, I saw Melissa Jackson, school friend and milliner extraordinaire.
‘Sup?’ I greeted her, as I slowly slid the tiny cowboy hat from my head.
Thankfully, Melissa has seen it all before, having decorated the noggin’s of many a fine filly and nag for Cup week.
As for me? I have decided to be edgy this year and and am borrowing something from a certain Icelandic s̶c̶r̶e̶a̶m̶e̶r̶ singer, I know.
Happy Friday to you, fashionistas.
